Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Saturday 15th November 2025 Park View AFC 3 v 0 Billingham Synthonia
On paper this always looked like a home win banker. Fifth top at home versus the second from bottom visitors. But Synners were coming into the game on the back of four straight league wins and had to be respected.
Especially after their 5 - 0 midweek away win at Prudhoe. However, Park View were also coming into the game in fine form. Three straight home wins lifting them back up into the playoff positions.
The weather had not been kind over the previous 48 hours but the game still went ahead on a pretty good surface considering. A real testament to the work off the pitch from PV's groundstaff.
Park View made one change from their impressive 3 - 1 win over Jarrow seven days previous.
Reyhan Grimaud returning from suspension to replace Joe Sykes at right back who dropped to the bench. Synners were missing top scorer Sam Irvine from their line-up.
Park View kicked off and started the game in sensational fashion. The ball was played out and up to the left looking for Charlie Loveday. Freddie McBride intercepting and putting the ball out for a throw-in.
Cue Dylan Robson wo launched the ball into the box, skipper Dylan Wilkinson flicked it on and there was Stephen Siyanbola unmarked inside the six-yard box to nod in a simple opening goal after only 36 seconds. What a start for PV.

It was the Centre Forward's seventh goal of the campaign making him PV's top scorer and getting his side off to a perfect opening.
It also confirmed the form Park View are in and the confidence was soon oozing through their play. Brad Hughes anchoring the midfield allowing Ben Gallagher and Brandon Young to drive forward at every opportunity to join their forwards.
That front line of Jacob Mallinson, Loveday and Siyanbola already causing Billingham problems. Loveday hitting a 20-yard effort on the five minute marker that was well-struck but went over the cross bar.
Synners though almost got back into the game when an uncharacteristic mistake by Wilkinson in defence saw him dispossessed by Spencer Evans who quickly found Jack Lamb in a dangerous position inside the PV area.
But Wilkinson recovered superbly to block off Lamb's path to goal and then clear the ball to safety. It was a temporary reprieve for the visitors as Park View returned to apply the pressure up top.
Robson coming out of defence making progress into the opposition box before delivering a superb long cross field diagonal ball from the right. It picked out the late burst into the box by Gallagher.
After timing his run so well Gallagher had a free header from 10 yards out but he could only direct it straight at Will Lawrence in the Billingham goal. The Synners captain making an easy catch.
Gallagher then turned provider sending Mallinson flying away down the right. Mallinson whipped in a really dangerous cross that Arthur Connelly did really well to intercept in front of Siyanbola conceding a throw-in.
This time although Wilkinson got another good flick-on, Lawrence was alive to the danger inside is six-yard area and punched the ball away to safety in fine style.
On 21 minutes Park View did strike again and given their possession and forward thinking play it was fully deserved. This time Young did really well not to just get up and win a header in midfield but to divert it into the path of Loveday.
The speedy forward was away through the middle showing a clean pair of heels to the trailing defenders. Into the box he composed himself and fired a 14-yarder with his right foot to Lawrence's right giving the keeper no chance.

A well deserved goal for Park View's early pressure and expertly finished by Loveday to give his side a great platform for the rest of the game. Synners clearly up against it as all the PV players looked in the mood.
Young producing an outstanding piece of midfield work to win the ball, drive forward and find his central partner Gallagher breaking into the Billingham box. Gallagher looked in on goal.
But Alfie Owen saved is side from further misery by coming across superbly and blocking Gallagher just as he was about to pull the trigger.
A rare Billingham sortie forward saw Wilkinson step into prevent Evans from creating an opportunity for Billingham. Evans fouling Wilkinson but the referee playing a great advantage as James Hughes hurled the ball right to Mallinson.
Grimaud bursting past is wide right colleague on the overlap and instantly found by Mallinson's probing inside pass. Grimaud's low cross on the run was excellent and Jacob Owen almost sliced the ball into is own goal.
It was a corner instead. Expertly whipped in by Mallinson right under the Synners cross bar were Lawrence did really well to punch it away under pressure to keep it out.
Then a B Hughes free kick deep into the Billingham almost saw Sam Lawrence's back header beat his own keeper with the ball beating W Lawrence but flashing wide for a corner.
Mallinson delivered and Siyanbola rose well just outside the six-yard box to power a header inches over the bar with W Lawrence well beaten. So close to a third for the rampant PV.
Billingham then gave Park View a reminder that a two-goal lead could be fragile with their best move of the match. Harry Healey slipping Josh Hodgkinson through on goal with just J Hughes to beat.
The Park View stopper though coming off is line to make a superb blocking save. The ball fell back to Hodgkinson though and he fired it back on target. Robson covering behind his keeper managing to intercept it.
His clearance was slightly sliced and actually crashed against his own post but it bounced to safety and Park View's two goal advantage was not halved.
Another great PV move almost brought them further reward. Twinkling feet from Mallinson saw him drift past two defenders as he cut in from the right before finding Jamie Frizzel in space on the left.
Frizzel delivered a deep cross towards the back post looking for Young arriving late in a trademark move. Young though was denied by W Lawrence diving out to intercept just before the dynamic midfielder could get on the end of it.
Young was putting in the yards and won another corner for his side on the left after being found by Frizzel's searching ball down the line. Again Mallinson swung it right under the Synners bar and again Lawrence punched away.
S Lawrence completed the clearance at the expense of another corner. Another Mallinson in-swinger, another Lawrence punch and danger averted again. Young was now being targeted by some zealous challenges from Synners.
Right on half-time Alex Thomson picking up a yellow card for a robust tackle wide on the right felling Young. Mallinson whipped it in and Lawrence punched it away to complete the first half action in familiar style.
The teams trooped off with Park View well on top and two goals to the good. Synners though were not out of the game just yet and would have been hoping for a more productive second 45 minutes.
It didn't start that way for Synners as Park View continued to push and pile on the pressure as the second half opened. Loveday creating a great chance with superb wing play on the left.
He jinked and twisted to the byline before pulling a great cross to the back post that the onrushing Gallagher caught flush on the volley from about 8-yards out. It was on target but W Lawrence was equal to it making a stunning reflex save.
Siyanbola was first to the loose ball and he crossed to the opposite post where Young at full stretch just failed to divert the ball on target and saw his effort go inches wide.
Synners did eventually carve out a chance when S Lawrence threaded a ball through the PV defence for Evans to run on to. Evans went around J Hughes but just as he looked to shoot Hughes did well to deflect the ball away.
From S Lawrence's corner Park View launched a counter attack after Frizzel headed clear and Loveday streaked away down the left. Thomson coming across to halt Loveday's run at the expense of a corner.
Mallinson delivered and Frizzel got up well to power a header from 10-yards out but it was straight at W Lawrence who gathered it well. W's counterpart S Lawrence was starting to pull a few strings for Billingham in the midfield.
Picking a ball up in the middle of the park he split the PV defence for Evans once again to run onto. This time it was Wilkinson defending his team's clean sheet that came across to make a crucial block.
PV on 61 minutes replaced the limping B Hughes with Frankie Young and a minute later made the game safe with a third goal to break Synners' resistance. It came initially from another piece of win wizardry from Loveday.
Gallagher playing the ball wide to Loveday on the left and the speedy wide forward once again creating great space before firing in a low left foot cross that substitute Charlie Raby turned just around his own post to give PV a corner.
This time Mallinson's delivery was finally rewarded. Another pinpoint ball saw Frizzel rise higher than anyone and from about 8-yards out head firmly down and past W Lawrence into the right corner of the net.

The defender once again showing his prowess in the air and his danger from set plays which are a big part of the Park View arsenal. It gave Billingham a mountain that they were never going to climb.
PV made a further two substitutions. Sam Beattie coming on for Mallinson and Ollie Taylor replacing Gallagher. Both the replaced players having put in a great shift.
Brilliant play by Loveday saw him drift inside and then finding the overlapping Grimaud on the right. His low ball into the box picking out Siyanbola who spun and hit a left-foot shot goal wards that Jacob Owen was able to block.
Park View really should have had a fourth late on when Loveday once again got away on the left and delivered a superb cross. This time Taylor arriving late got a full blown header on it but it was oh-so narrowly wide from a great position.
Ethan Connelly came on as the 90 minute mark replacing Brandon Young who had put in an absolutely wonderful midfield display full of powerful running, precision passing and excellent attacking intent.
The final chance of the game fell Billingham's way. Jacob Owen finding S Lawrence inside the PV box and his low drive taking a deflection off Frizzel. But Hughes was not to be denied a clean sheet as he got down low to save smartly.
The referee's whistle for no-side bringing another well-deserved, polished and poised performance from PV that earned them three more points in their playoff quest and a fourth consecutive win.
