Match Preview - Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Wednesday 26th August 2026 - Durham United (H) - Kick-Off 19:30pm

Two teams in need of points and form clash at The Riverside on Wednesday night. Durham United mainly made up of students from Durham University are the visitors for a game crucial to both sides.

United sit in 19th place in the table with only two points from their seven games played. No wins, two draws and five losses their record. They have scored 8 goals and conceded 28 thus far being the most in the Division.

Durham did however draw last time out 2 - 2 at home against Billingham Synthonia on Saturday and do have a win this season after an impressive 2 - 0 away at First Division Northallerton Town.

Four of their eight league goals have come from the prolific Phil Kay who was also United's top scorer last season and one of the deadliest marksman in the League. Daniel Rehimback has three goals including one in The Vase victory.

Park View are currently on a run that has no wins in their last six league games after starting the season with two wins. A run that also includes three defeats in the last three games including a 3 - 0 defeat in the FA Vase at Knaresborough.

That last week was a tough one with that loss at Knaresborough followed by defeats to league leaders Boldon CA 3 - 0 on the road and last Saturday third placed Jarrow came to The Riverside and left with a 3 - 1 victory.

Charlie Loveday on return from injury netting Park View's consolation giving him four goals for the season taking him one in front of fellow forward Niall Armstrong.

So, it's clear to see why both teams could really do with a win in Wednesday night's clash which looks as if it'll be a tight closely fought encounter.

Last season Durham achieved their first point in their Northern League history with a 3 - 3 home draw against Park View. A thriller of a game where Charlie Bramwell scored twice and Thomas Boothroyd netted the other.

Park View's replies coming from Stephen Siyanbola, an own goal and Dylan Robson. Siyanbola was on target again against Durham in the return fixture netting both in 2 - 1 home win for PV. Boothroyd replying for United.

It will be two totally different line-ups that take to the field on Wednesday night with none of last season's scorers in either line-up this season. It makes it a difficult game to predict when the side's kick-off at 7:30pm.
