Competing at Step 6 in the National League System, the team offers a high-level platform for players aged 16–19 to gain valuable experience in senior men's football, bridging the gap between youth and adult competition.

The squad is made up predominantly of full-time Academy students, many of whom are under 21, reflecting the club’s mission to prioritise development and progression. The First Team plays competitive fixtures against established semi-professional sides, providing players with the physical and tactical demands necessary to prepare them for the next step in their football journey.
