Match Preview - Darlington Town - Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Friday 24th October 2025 - Kick-Off 19:30pm

ree

by Jeff King Yes, it's Friday Night Football under the lights at The Riverside this week as Park View return home for the first time in almost three weeks. The last time they were at home they took a 2 - 1 victory over current league leaders FC Hartlepool.

The PV hierarchy, officials, management, players and supporters will be hoping for more of the same as they look to get back into the playoff picture. But it won't be easy against a very solid looking Darlington Town side.

Darlo sit 14th in the table having won 7 drawn 4 and lost 9 of their 20 games played. They have 25 points so far this season and have scored 24 goals and conceded 28. Not spectacular but very solid numbers showing their toughness.

Their top scorer is Gareth McMahon with six goals followed by Ciaron Dixon with 5 and James Beauchamp with 4. All dangerous players that PV will need to be aware of on Friday night.

Town come into the game on an topsy-turvy run in their last six games with three wins and three loses recorded. So, it's difficult to tell which Darlington side will turn up.

Not that it matters to Park View who will, as always, give their opponents total respect and attention. They though do need a win to get back up amongst the top sides in the Division.

With not having a game last weekend and only drawing 1 - 1 with Newcastle University at Essity Park 13 days ago other teams have moved above Park View in the table.

If PV win their games in hand on those above them they will catapult themselves back into the place they want to be. But saying it and doing it are two quite different things.

They currently sit 8th having played 18 games with 9 wins 5 draws and 4 defeats. Their goal difference is 24 scored and only a miserly 16 conceded for 32 points which is a decent but could have been better.

Their last six games have yielded three wins one draw and two losses although they are unbeaten in their last two. Goal scoring has been a little bit of an issue which they are looking to correct.

PV's top scorer Nathan Conroy leads the way and has netted 6. Charlie Loveday is one behind on 5 and Stephen Siyanbola a further one behind on 4. All will be looking to add to their tallies on Friday.

An intriguing game and one that could easily go any of the three ways possible. If you want your fix of local Northern League football why not get down to The Riverside for the 7:30pm kick-off.
