It's 5th top of the table v 5th top of the table at The Riverside on Wednesday night. How can that be you ask?

Well, it's League Cup action that sees First Division high-fliers West Auckland Town as the visitors to Second Division Park View AFC who are also riding high in their League table.

The first ever winners of The World Cup, IYKYK, and they are a side that score goals for fun. They currently have 11 wins 3 draws and 5 losses from their 19 League games. A very good solid record.

They have scored 46 times and conceded on 27 occasions. Add in the 24 goals they have scored in Cup competitions so far and its clear to see that they are a very attacking minded side.

It should be a contrast of styles and a very exciting game indeed. How tough is lower league Park View task? Consider this.

Park View went out of the Durham Challenge Cup earlier in the season to Gateshead Rutherford after a penalty shoot-out. The next round pitted Rutherford against Wests who actually recorded a 10 – 0 win.

Individually they share the goals out as well. Craig Moody is their top scorer with 12 goals including 10 in the League. Alfie Steel has 11 goals that includes 4 in the cups and Leo Robinson has netted 10 times which also includes 4 cup goals.

Park View are going into the game in good form after recording a fourth successive home win last Saturday against Billingham Synthonia and the third in a row where they scored three goals.

Stephen Siyanbola got the first goal making him Park View's top scorer this season with 7 netted. Charlie popped up with the second taking him level with Nathan Conroy on to 6 one behind Siyanbola.

With both sides going for playoff positions in their respective Division's and facing important League game this coming Saturday it will be interesting to see how both teams line-up for this prestigious Cup competition.

Whatever the line-ups the tie will be played to a conclusion on the night with a penalty shoot-out if the teams should end level after 90 minutes. Kick-Off for the game is the usual 7:30pm for a midweek encounter.
