by Jeff King

At the second time of asking it's First Division visiting Second Division in the Ebac Northern League Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup. West Auckland Town the visitors to The Riverside to take on Park View AFC

Wests are having a decent season and currently sit 6th in the First Division with 39 points from 22 games made up of 12 wins 3 draws and 7 defeats. They have scored 51 times and conceded 31.

Their top scorer is Craig Moody with 12 whilst Fin O'Gorman who had a brief spell with Park View when they were Chester-le-Street United a couple of seasons ago has 9. Six of those scored for FC Hartlepool earlier in the season.

Wests haven't actually played since 16th December when they went out of the Durham County FA Challenge Cup at Second Division Seaham Red Star. Prior to that their last six league games had seen them win four and lose twice.

Since their last game they have made two new signings who are eligible to play in this game if selected. Ashley Adams has arrived from Tow Law Town and ex-Newcastle United Academy midfielder Natahan Carlyon from Blyth Town.

Park View themselves haven't managed a game since they won the Derby on The Moor against Town 1 - 0 on Boxing Day to continue their spectacular form.

They've had seven wins in a row in the league including three away from home since we were last at The Riverside. At Sunderland RCA 2 – 0, Sunderland West End 7 – 0 and of course that Derby result.

Three more clean sheets as well meaning they have the meanest defence currently in the Division having only conceded 19 all season. Top of the form table as well and means they have 53 points from 26 games.

Stephen Siyanbola continues to lead PV with 9 goals in the League and Charlie Loveday has 7 but like their opponents they have many options when it comes to breaking down defences.

Kick-Off at The Riverside for a game all are looking forward to is at 7:30pm.
