Matchday 8 for Park View AFC in the Ebac Northern League Division 2 is a home fixture for them at The Riverside against Sunderland RCA. It looks like being another tough encounter for both sides.

RCA have made a very solid start to their season. Saturday's 0 - 0 draw at home against high-flying Alnwick Town showing that their results and performances mark them out as a difficult side to play against.

They currently sit 11th in the table with 11 points from their 7 games made up of 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. They've scored 10 goals so far and only conceded 7 so tight games are the norm when RCA are involved.

Their top scorer so far is ex-Newcastle United junior/reserve player Dennis Knight with the forward having netted 6 of the 10 goals scored by his side. He's a player Park View will have to watch closely.

For Park View, Matchday's 1 through to 5 went well but the last two have seen successive losses 1 - 0 away at FC Hartlepool and disappointingly a 3 - 0 home reversal against Sunderland West End.

PV gifted two early goals to West End inside the first 7 minutes on Saturday and then gave another bad goal away on 50 minutes which sealed the deal for the visitors and made it a bad day at the office for the youngsters of Park View.

They were youngsters too. Three 16-year-olds in the squad with two starting. They didn't let their teammates down but lacked experience at this level and West End took full advantage.

There were 8 potential first team players missing on Saturday through injury and unavailability. It'll be interesting to see how many of those are fit and available for selection as The Two Micky's consider their options.

An intriguing contest in prospect with the action getting underway at 7:30pm.
