It's a historic night in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday as Park View AFC return to The Riverside for the 2025/26 season and kick their home programme off under their new name against Grangetown Boys Club.
"Boysie" as they are known make the trip up North looking for their first win of the season after a slow start to their campaign in their opening three games.
One draw and two defeats, two goals scored and nine conceded and only the single point. Both the Grangetown goals coming from striker Joe Dixon. Last Saturday Boysie were beaten 6 - 0 at home against Alnwick Town.
But these are early days in the season and things are yet to settle down in the Division. It's very much teams trying to get a good blend, sense of togetherness and looking to forge consistency with hopes still in many hearts.
Grangetown are no different to any side at this stage and will be a tough and difficult side for Park View to face. They cannot be taken lightly if Park View are to continue their unbeaten run.
On Saturday it looked like Park View after two great away wins at AFC Newbiggin and Jarrow FC were sliding to a first defeat of the season. They were 3 - 1 down at Durham United with six minutes left on the clock.
But a late rally showing real character, tenacity and commitment saw Park View haul themselves level before the final whistle to remain unbeaten and take their points tally to 7 so far.
Last season Park View playing under Chester-le-Street United did the double over Boysie. A 2 - 0 win down in Middlesbrough back in October 24 was followed by a 9 - 0 home win at The Ford Hub in the return fixture in March.
Clearly Park View would welcome a repeat of either result whilst Grangetown will be looking to take their first points off the home side and also register their first goal against their opposition.
Only three games gone and it's already a top end v bottom end clash. Both sides need a win for different reasons which makes for a very intriguing encounter that kicks-off at The Riverside at 7:30pm.
