"The Stag Derby!!!"

With no Premiership football to distract people/supporters it is hoped that those of that persuasion can be tempted to change their viewing for one weekend and attend The Riverside on Saturday afternoon.

If they do they may never go back to top-flight professional footy after seeing the fayre that Park View AFC and Esh Winning serve up as both sides battle for points for different reasons.

Esh Winning having made a poor start to their campaign and looking to kick start their revival in what looks like another tough challenge for them.

They had a good campaign last season and were in the play-off positions before falling away dramatically towards the end and that hangover has continued into this season.

They are currently second bottom at the moment with 5 points from 11 games played. One win which was on the opening day of the season 2 – 1 at Grangetown Boys Club and since then only two draws and eight defeats.

They they did pick up a point in midweek with a creditable 2 – 2 home draw against Alnwick Town. They’ve only scored six goals in their opening 11 games with James Bower netting two of those and they've conceded 30.

On paper today looks a tough task for them but football’s a funny game someone once said!

Park View meanwhile continue to be highly competitive and very secure all around the pitch. The 0 – 0 draw at leaders Redcar Town to grab a point was well deserved and was their fifth clean sheet in a row in all competitions.

It’s now been 490 minutes since they have conceded a goal and their six wins, three draws and two defeats with 19 goals scored and 10 conceded have them in the play-off positions at 5th with 21 points.

Nathan Conroy is their top marksman with 6 goals, Charlie Loveday has 4 and Stephen Siyanbola has 3. All have missed games recently through injury but all are on their way back to bolster an attack that can support their tight defence.

Kick-off at The Riverside is at 15:00pm and the forecast is set fair for a nice day. So, get yourselves down to Chester-le-Street to enjoy some excellently priced value for money live football.
