Match Preview - Esh Winning (A) - Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Wednesday 11th March 2026 - Kick-off 19:30pm

by Jeff King

"The Stag Derby!" It takes place at Esh Winning on Wednesday night with both teams desperate for a win for completely different reasons. One team needing the three points to get out of trouble and the other for a playoff position push.

Esh to be fair need to seemingly have a miracle run if they are not to be relegated in the wooden spoon position. They are nine points adrift at the bottom of the league although they still have 27 points to play for.

Their league record shows 33 games played 4 wins 4 draws and 25 defeats. They have scored on 15 goals and conceded 87. Top scorers for Esh are James Bower and Noah Ellis with two each. Both still registered with the Club.

Esh have won one and drawn one of their last three games to show signs of a revival. The 2-1 surprise home win over high-flying FC Hartlepool was eye-opening. Then last Saturday they got a creditable 1-1 draw at Billingham Town.

Park View have slipped out of the play-off positions following Saturday's unlucky 2-1 home loss to Yarm & Eaglescliffe. They are still very much in th running for the end of season promotion chance but need to get back to winning ways.

They sit in seventh place after their 34 games have seen 18 wins 7 draws and 9 defeats with 50 goals scored and only 30 conceded. Park View's form since the turn of the year has been very inconsistent and they need to turn that around.

Stephen Siyanbola leads the way as their top scorer with 12 goals and Charlie Loveday has 7. Loveday though hasn't scored since the 7-0 demolition of Sunderland West End back on 20/12/2025.

When the two sides met at The Riverside back on the 6th September last year the game ended goalless with former Park View player Jackson Cherrie getting sent off. Neither side would be happy with a similar result on Wednesday.
