Park View AFC travel to Cougar Park, Keighley on Saturday for what is one of the biggest games thus far in their short history. A win over Eccleshill United would put them in the First Round Proper of The Isuzu FA Vase.
That would represent the furthest they have gone in what is the highest level of competition The Club can participate in. But it is not going to be an easy task at all.
Eccleshill United are in the North East Counties Premier League and in the last round defeated Ebac Northern League Division 1 opposition in Guisborough Town 1 - 0. Guisborough currently sitting in second place in Division 1.
The Eagles as the home team are known are not having a great League campaign but it could also be a lot worse. They sit 12th in the table with 3 wins 2 draws and 6 defeats from their 11 League games.
They have only scored 10 goals but they've also only conceded 16 times meaning they currently have 11 points. Junior Nasihunu grabbed the only goal of the game against Guisborough and also has a league goal to his credit as well.
Top goal scorer in the League for Eccleshill is Zackary Sangster who has netted 3 times whilst Josh McKiernon has 2. They look a compact well-drilled side and certainly Guisborough were unable to break them down.
Park View meanwhile go into the game after a solid well-deserved 1 - 0 away League win in midweek over Prudhoe YC Seniors with Charlie Loveday netting his 5th goal of the season from a sublime Stephen Siyanbola assist.
PV currently sitting in the playoff positions in Division 2 being 5th with 25 points from 14 games played. They reached this round of 'The Vase' after seeing off Eccleshill's fellow Keighley neighbours Steeton AFC 2 - 0.
The goals coming one in each half with an excellent free kick from Jacob Mallinson opening the scoring and then Ben Gallagher making the game safe with a great finish from 10-yards out.
Looking at the game ahead it looks like it's going to be a closely fought competitive encounter between two sides boasting good defensive records. A tight match-up would therefore seem a good bet where nerves will be tested.
Kick-Off at Cougar Park is at 3:00pm.
