Park View AFC take their unbeaten League record to The Alexander Steakhouse Stadium on Tuesday night to take on Seaham Red Star. A tough task for sure as the youngsters of PV look to maintain their fine start to the 2026/27 campaign.
A great comeback on Saturday from 2 - 0 down against Seaton Carew after 46 minutes showed a steely determination and great character. In the end Park View had enough chances to haven take all three points but it was not to be.
But two wins and a draw in their opening fixtures have garnered them 7 points and 6th place in the table in their early going. They've scored 8 and conceded 4 and the games have all been very entertaining.
They face a Red Star side that were and still are heavily fancied to be in the promotion mix and conversations. However the Durham coast outfit did not get off to the best start to the season losing their first two games.
A 2 - 1 home loss on opening day against Billingham Town was followed by a midweek 3 - 1 loss at current League leaders AFC Newbiggin. Last Saturday though Seaham did get on the board with a 2 - 0 away win at Prudhoe.
It means Red Star currently sit in 14th place in the table with 3 points from their three League games. They've scored 4 goals and conceded 5 and will be looking to kick on and build from Saturday.
Last season the teams met at the same venue in the same month with the game ending in a 0 - 0 draw. The return fixture at The RIverside saw Seaham take an impressive 2 - 0 away win to hold the upper hand in previous games.
League positions and results can often be misleading in the early days of the season with side's still searching often for fluency and consistency. It promises to be another hard-fought encounter on Tuesday night with a 7:30pm kick-off.
