A really big game and much anticpated clash in prospect at The Riverside on Saturday afternoon as 4th take on 5th in the Ebac Northern League Division 2.

Park View who currently occupy that 4th placed position host their sixth home game of the month as AFC Newbiggin come looking to get a win that would take them above their hosts.

"The Biggin" are having a very fine season indeed. They have 24 points from 13 games to give them that 5th position. They have won 7 drawn 3 and lost 3 scoring 30 goals in those games and conceding 19.

Their top marksman is mercurial midfielder Matty Nelson who has 8 league goals to his credit whilst Ethan Smith has managed 3. But this is a side that spreads the goals out and is dangerous from everywhere.

Park View are similar. They have netted 26 goals and conceded 21. Speedy tricky creative Charlie Loveday has 9 goals and youngster Niall Armstrong has managed 4 so far.

Park View have one more point than AFC Newbiggin but they have also played two more games than their vistors. Their 25 points made up from 7 wins 4 draws and 4 defeats.

Park View have played twice in the last week beating Stokesley SC 3 - 2 at home last Saturday and then getting a credible 1 - 1 draw at FC Hartlepool in midweek, Newbiggin played their last game last Friday and went down 2 - 1 at Ryton.

Last season saw Park View do the double over their visitors. They won on the road on opening day 2 - 1 with goals from Charlie Loveday and Nathan Conroy. The reply coming from Ethan Smith.

That was AFC Newbiggin's debut game in the Northern League and they did not fare any better when the visited The Riverside for the first time.

Park View winning 3 - 1 with two goals from Stephen Siyanbola and another from Brandon Young with Cameron Elliott replying for the Northumberland coastal outfit. Newbiggin will be looking to reverse that trend.

The games that these two sides have been involved in so far this season indicates and promises goals a-plenty. You can see if that happens by being at The Riverside on Saturday for the 3:00pm kick-off.
