Match Preview - Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Saturday 25th July 2026 - Alnwick Town (A) - Kick-Off 15:00pm

It's a trip to St. James Park, Alnwick for Park View AFC to open their Ebac Northern League Division 2 campaign for 2026/2027. Their furthest trip north to take on one of the oldest historic teams in the region.

Last season Alnwick finished in a very creditable 8th position in the table with 70 points from their 42 games. Three of those points taken off Park View in their two league clashes last season.

Town came to The Riverside before Christmas last year and took a 2-0 victory and all three points. In the reverse fixture up in North Northumberland, Park View came away with a very creditable 0-0 draw late on in the season.

Park View eventually finishing 6th in the table with 73 points and just missing out on a second successive end of season play-off place. PV's run-in a disappointing end to what had been a promising season.

Alnwick will provide a stern test for the Park View youngsters to open the League season. There have been numerous and significant departures from the Park View set-up as they prepared for the new season.

Head Coach Micky Nelson has moved on with John Gamble stepping back up into the role as Head Coach a position he has filled before. He will be assisted by Assistant Coach Colin Wotherspoon who is part of the Academy coaching staff.

Player's player of the year Captain Dylan Wilkinson has left the Club moving to National League North Darlington Town. Manager's player of the year James Hughes who was the NL Division 2 Young Player of the Year has also left the club.

Hughes moving up to First Division Newcastle Benfield. Other notable departures and last season regular starters include Dylan Robson who has moved to Newton Aycliffe and top scorer Stephen Siyanbola who has signed for Jarrow.

Playing wise Park View will once again cover these departures by relying on their 'project' and programme with several youngsters stepping up from the Under-21s and Under-18s to the first team squad.

It's going to be an interesting season ahead and an intriguing first outing between two sides that will both be hoping to be in the promotion conversations. Kick-off at the 'other' St James Park is at 3:00pm.
