Match Preview - Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Saturday 19th September 2026 - Stokesley Sports Club (H) - Kick-Off 15:00pm
A historic occasion at The Riverside on Saturday as Stokesley Sports Club make their first ever visit to take on Park View in the Ebac Northern League Division 2. The first meeting between the two sides in a competitive fixture.
Plenty to play for as well for both sides as one looks to pull away from the bottom end of the table and the other looks to maintain a challenge for the Divisional promotion play-offs.
Stokesley SC who were promoted from the North Riding League are finding life tough so far in the Northern League having only won once in 11 games. They do also have three draws which have all come in their last four games.
It means they currently sit in 18th place in the table on 6 points. A win at The Riverside could see them leap frog Grangetown Boys Club depending on Boysie's result at Tow Law Town.
They have scored 13 times in those 11 games and conceded 20 times. Top goal scorer is Carl Williams who has netted 6 of SC’s total with no-one else in their ranks having scored more than once.
Their last game two weeks ago was a very creditable 1 – 1 draw away at 4th placed AFC Newbiggin and as mentioned they have three draws, all 1 – 1, in the last four games.
Park View meanwhile come into the game on the back of successive home league victories which has propelled them to 6th place in the table with a chance to go back up to 5th should they take all three points.
They have already played 13 games and have 6 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats giving them 21 points as they continue to build a solid foundation for the rest of the season.
Park View have hit the back of the net on 22 occasions so far with Charlie Loveday being their top marksman with 7 goals notched so far. Defensively they have conceded 18 goals this season.
Both teams need the points for differing reasons and with no previous history between the two sides it will be interesting to see which team takes the lead in the inaugural game series that kicks off at 3:00pm.
