The now traditional Derby on The Moor sees both teams coming in to the festive fixture well placed in the league and needing the three points even more than the bragging rights. Not that will stop this being a fiercely competitive game.
The hosts perhaps needing the win a little more as they are currently two points and a place below their town centre neighbours. That said if Park View could get all three points it would create a significant gap in the play-off race.
Town are sitting in sixth place with 48 points from 28 games made up of 15 wins 3 draws and ten defeats. They have scored 44 times in the league and conceded 27 times.
Going into last Friday's game at AFC Newbiggin they had only lost once in five games and were on a four match unbeaten run. However a 4 - 3 loss on the Northumberland coast wasn't what they wanted on a cold Friday night.
They'll be looking to bounce back in the Boxing Day match-up for sure and will look to the likes of ex-Park View Academy players Scott Robson who is Town's leading scorer with nine goals and Ryan Wright who currently has four.
Nathan Conroy who made the switch earlier this month from Park View has eight league goals of which six came whilst at PV. He is rumoured/reported to be injured for Friday which will be a blow to him and Town.
Park View meanwhile go into the game in terrific league form and with confidence high. Six league wins and a 7-0 away win at Sunderland West End last weekend has them sitting in fifth position in the table.
They have played 25 games, three fewer than Town and have 50 points from those games with 15 wins 5 draws and 5 losses so far. They have scored 43 goals and only conceded 19 which is the best defensive record in the Division.
Two-goal Stephen Siyanbola took his tally to 9 for the season last weekend and another goal for Charlie Loveday took him to 7 for the league campaign. Ben Gallagher's first ever senior hat-trick lifting his total to 4.
So, yes bragging rights on the line but much more importantly three points on offer as well. Kick-Off for what is a highly anticipated clash where there's sure to be a bumper Bank Holiday crowd is at 11:00am at Moor Park.
