Match Preview - Boldon CA (H) - Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Wednesday 18th March 2026 - Kick-off 19:30pm

by Jeff King

Another near the top of the table club versus a near the bottom of the table club will take place at The Riverside on Wednesday night. 5th from top Park View AFC taking on and hosting 5th from bottom Boldon Community Association.

The game which kicks off at 7:30 pm is one that neither side can ill-afford to lose. Park View having climbed back into the play-offs following their 1-0 win at Billingham Synthonia on Saturday need to build on that and keep winning.

That's because although they are in a play-off position they have played more games than those immediately below them. Should those teams, Chester Town and FC Hartlepool win their games in hand they would go above Park View.

The home side have won 2 drawn 2 and lost 2 of their last six league games scoring 4 times in that recent run and only conceding 5. Overall they have 65 points from 36 games with 19 wins 8 draws and 9 defeats.

They have scored 51 league goals with Stephen Siyanbola their top marksman on 12 and Charlie Loveday the main support with 7. Defensively they have kept 18 clean sheets and only conceded on 30 occasions.

Boldon on the other hand are on a seriously bad run of form. Six played and six lost recently with 5 goals scored and 16 conceded. Overall they have 31 points from 34 games with 8 wins 7 draws and 19 defeats.

Although they have four teams below them in the League they are only six points better off than second-from-bottom Billingham Synthonia. A potentially precarious position that a couple of quick wins would really elevate.

Their top scorer is Jack Robertson with 8 netted although he is on a dual registration with Newton Aycliffe and is not always available for CA. Kev Humble and Sam Watts come next on 4 goals each.

Back on the 23rd of September last year the two sides met at the Boldon Colliery Welfare Ground. Park View taking all three points in a 1-0 win. The goal coming late on in the 87th minute from PV skipper Dylan Wilkinson.

A result similar to that would certainly suit the home side in their promotion push. The visitors will be looking for revenge and to turn that result around to ease any relegation fears.
