Match Preview - Alnwick Town (A) - Ebac Northern League Division 2 - Tuesday 3rd March 2026 - Kick-Off 19:45pm

Another day and another huge clash in the Ebac Northern League Division 2 play-off race on Tuesday at the 'other' St James Park in Northumberland with a re-arranged fixture that should have been the Valentine's game.

Tenth placed Alnwick Town host fifth placed Park View AFC with both sides desperate for a win. For the home side they need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible as a dip in form has seen them slip to the fringes of the playoffs.

After a superb 3 - 2 away win at leaders Redcar Town and then another away victory against Boldon CA 3 - 1 they have lost their last three league games in a row. A 5 - 1 defeat at Yarm & Eaglescliffe, 4 - 1 home defeat to Ryton & Crawcrook Albion and then last Friday night a 3 - 1 loss away to lowly Tow Law Town.

Those three defeats have severely dented their playoff aspirations as they've slipped to that tenth eighth place with 14 wins 8 draws and 8 defeats giving them 50 points from 33 games. They have scored 64 goals whilst conceding 58.

Top scorer for Town and still at the club is Max Anderson who has seven league goals whilst Antonio Agostinho has six. Euan Potts who had 13 and Jamie Clark with 14 have both left Alnwick for Blyth Town and Spartans respectively.

Manager Richard Latimer may well have new faces in his squad on Tuesday after commenting following the loss at Tow Law of the need to cover a few injuries and freshen up his options.

Park View AFC meanwhile have played 32 games and have 18 wins 6 draws and 8 defeats for 60 points. Their 2-1 win on Saturday over Durham United saw them climb back into the top five playoff positions.

They have scored 49 goals and only conceded 28 which currently gives them the best defensive record in the division and includes 15 clean sheets. The platform for their playoff push.

Park View's two goals on Saturday came from top scorer Stephen Siyanbola who has now netted twelve times and is back in the ranks after a short period at Blyth Town. Charlie Loveday with seven is their second top marksman.

Back on the 13th September last year Alnwick arrived at The Riverside and took all three points with a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Yannick Aziakonou and Max Anderson.

Alnwick would very much like a repeat of that result to try and get back into the playoff picture. Park View of course would love to reverse that result in a game at the 'other' St James Park that kicks off at 7:45pm.
